THE END

Our 2009 season ended this weekend with a in the first round of Conference Tournament against number 2 ranked College of the Ozarks. They simply outplayed us and wanted the game more than we did. Once again we were given all the tools to play a good smart game but when it came down to it, Ozarks just simply out played us. At least we lost to the team that went on to win it all. The very next day they swept a clean three games right out from under Bellevue University.

We had a lot of ups and downs this season. Although the season did not turn out how we all woud have liked we can still take a lot of experiences away from this year. There is a lot that we can biuld on and having such a young team would help. Before the next season we will work twice as hard to fix all the key factors that held us back this year.

We appreciate all the support the fans have given us throughout the season. Thank you for always being there to cheer us on and keep our hopes up. It is because of family, friends, and loyal fans that we were able to keep our eyes on the future and just keep plugging away at the season.

Thanks again for everything!!!

FINAL HOURS

This weekend we finished up our conference and regular season games against Haskell Indian Nation and Central Christian. Friday night we took on Haskell in what started out to be a a clean sweep. We took the first two games from them, but as usual we got to comfortable and Haskell snuck up behind us and stole the 3rd and 4th games. Luckly once the 5th game rolled around we had all decided that this was enough and we just need to finish it. With our high energy we swept the 5th game and called it a night. Senior Cara apparently had something to prove she ended the night with a season high of 26 kills.

Saturday after some much needed rest after the Haskell game we had a double header against the Central Christian Tigers. Before the first game we took a few moments to honor our parents, fans and all other supporters. Your flames took care of business the first match and swept all three games from under the Tigers. After a brief intermission, our Senior Cara stood alone on the court as a few words from Junior Krysta we said about her. Krysta gave a heartfelt and funny speech that touched the hearts of many and even made a few laugh. It was obvious that the whole gym knew and felt the Cara would be missed. In the second match of the day against the Tigers, we still swept them in three games but it wasn’t nearly as pretty as the first match. Two out of the three games we had to come from behind.

Now that our season is coming down to an end there are mixed emotions on the team, some sadness some joy and some excitement. Tournament play starts this Friday at 6 pm against College of the Ozarks at Bellevue University. Now it comes down to one game, from here on out every game determines the fate of your team. It’s all or nothing, kill or be killed, WIN OR GO HOME!!!!

I would like to give an extra special thanks to all of our fans that have supported us through all the good times and especially through the bad ones. You are all great and we couldn’t have done as much as we did this season without your support.

THANKS GUYS!!!

Love your 2009 FLAMES!!!!

Bellevue

Hey CSM Fans

This past Wednesday the Flames took on conference opponent Bellevue University - currently ranked number 1 and undefeated in the MCAC conference. We had been working on scouting the Bruins and practicing hard for the match - but like many other games this season, the Flames did not come out ready to play. Bellevue outplayed us - holding our team to just a .049 hitting average and sweeping the match 25-14, 25-15, 25-11. It was a difficult loss to swallow, especially since we had all the tools in front of us to play a good match against Bellevue, but it's tough to win when only some of our players have the motivation and discipline. Hopefully we can come together as a team to finish out our regular season on a winning note when we take on Haskell and Central Christian this weekend.

We hope to see you fans at our matches this weekend! We face Haskell Indian Nations at home on Friday at 7pm...and we have a double header at home vs. Central Christian on Saturday at 2pm and 4pm. Saturday is also the day where we will honor our lone senior Cara, as well as have a special thank you for our parents. We hope you all can make it!!!

What's up Flames Fans? We hope you had a great Halloween weekend!!

While most were out Trick or Treating....the Flames were down in Bartlesville, Oklahoma taking on Oklahoma Wesleyan. We were coming off a tough loss to conference foe College of the Ozarks, and we definitely wanted to take out our frustration. The Flames did just that by sweeping Oklahoma Wesleyan in 3 games - 25-14, 25-22, 25-23 to make our record 6-4 in the conference. It was a great win for us, as the previous time we played Oklahoma Wesleyan at home they took a game away from us. We executed our game plan, and although it became close at the end, the Flames pulled out the W. A 3 win sweep was definitely needed for us to boost our confidence and prepare for our next conference match against the undefeated in conference team, Bellevue University. We've been preparing for over a month for this upcoming match, so be sure to come out to Bellevue on Wendesday, November 4th at 7pm to support your Flames!

We look forward to seeing you, and thanks for the continued support!!

One Step Forward... Two Steps Back

Hey Fans,

Last night we took on College of the Ozarks hoping for a revenge game but fell quite short of the goals that we had set in place. Now that it is getting down to the wire we cannot afford to be playing the way we have been the last few games. After the game some players admitted to feeling like they weren't mentally prepared they just felt like they were on the court not doing anything. Which is exactly how we were playing. Right from the beginning our serve receive wasn't there. That may have been the most aces that we have given up all season in a single game. Once our serve received picked up thats when our hitters went sour. You would think it wouldn't be that hard to find the court, but nothing seemed to be going our way.

Today we take on Oklahoma Wesleyan and hopefully we are all more mentally prepared. They are going to come out looking for revenge since we beat them last time. We are all playing the game we LOVE we just have to start proving it to others and really show them what we are worth.

Thanks FANS!!!!
